Week 11 NFL Picks: Favorites That Will Demolish Their Opponents

Richard LangfordNov 17, 2011

Week 11 in the NFL is going to see its share of blowouts. If you are in the mood to lay a little money on the NFL action this weekend, these three games are the place to start.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins

The Redskins are quickly turning into the worst team in football. They have lost five straight and haven't looked particularly good in any of those five.

Part of it is due to the fact they have been decimated by injuries, and part of it is that they are receiving some of the worst QB play in football.

This will not work out well for them as they face the suddenly red-hot Cowboys. The Cowboys have won three of their past four games.

The Cowboys will use their suddenly dominant running game to propel them to an easy victory in this one.

DeMarco Murray has been fantastic since taking over the starting duties. He has rushed for at least 135 yards in three of his four starts.

He is also averaging an ultra-impressive 6.7 yards per carry. And he should find some running lanes in this one.

After a solid start to the season, the Redskins defense has slipped. They are now 18th in rushing yards allowed per game.

Prediction: Cowboys 24, Redskins 10

Spread: Raiders -1

After playing a little better, the Vikings were embarrassed their last time on the field. They were destroyed by the Packers 45-7.

At the root of their problems this season is a horrible passing defense. They are 30th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game. Teams have passed at will against this weak and thin secondary.

They are also 25th in yards allowed per pass attempt. That is going to be a problem in this one, as Carson Palmer appears to have hit his stride in the Raiders offense. And that means they are striking for deep plays in this vertical offense.

The Raiders will be able to move the ball and score on this defense. The Vikings will not have as much success. The Vikings offense relies on Adrian Peterson to move the ball. They are the fifth-ranked rushing attack in yards per game.

This is potentially a problem for the Raiders. However, they have had success stopping an elite ground game when they were able to gear up to stop the run. They held Arian Foster and the Texans to 70 rushing yards at 2.8 yards per carry.

They will have similar success in this one, and an easy victory will ensue.

Prediction: Raiders 27, Vikings 17

Spread: Patriots -14.5

This is a huge spread, but the Patriots will have this one covered by halftime. The Chiefs are reeling.

Kansas City has lost its last two games by a combined score of 38-13, and now they must deal with the loss of QB Matt Cassel. That will leave the responsibility of attacking the Patriots' one true weakness—their pass defense (32nd in passing yards allowed per game)—in the hands of the immensely untested Tyler Palko.

This is not going to work out well for them. The Chiefs are going to have a tough time putting any points of the board. The Patriots will not have the same problem.

The Chiefs will send out a 16th-ranked passing defense against the No. 1 passing offense. The Patriots will be able to put up more than enough points in this one.

Prediction: Patriots 31, Chiefs 6
