NFL Power Rankings: Predicting Which Teams Will Continue Rising

Chris TrapassoNov 16, 2011

The Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears and Houston Texans have all pieced together some rather impressive winning streaks of late.

Can these clubs continue their torrid stretch with a win in Week 11?

It is becoming exceedingly difficult picking against the Packers.

Their offense is more diverse than the 2007 New England Patriots offense that broke countless yardage and scoring records. They've got the best quarterback on the planet behind center with a myriad of talented wide receivers that seemingly catch everything thrown in their direction.

The defending Super Bowl champs play the the 4-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home this week.

This isn't your 2010 Bucs; they've thoroughly disappointed this season.

Josh Freeman has struggled with accuracy this season and has four touchdown passes and seven interceptions during his team's three-game losing streak.

LeGarrette Blount has returned from injury, but is hardly the force he was last season when he averaged five yards a carry. (4.3 this season)

The defense isn't atrocious, yet they're far from intimidating.

Not that it matters when you're facing Rodgers.

Green Bay shouldn't have any issue out-scoring the Buccaneers and forcing Freeman to throw some costly turnovers in the second half.

10-0 Pack.

San Francisco 49ers

At 8-1, this team has won seven straight, including a huge inter-conference showdown with the Giants last week.

The defense is flying right now, and Alex Smith is slowly progressing from his previous "game-manager" label.

There's not much to say about this team because they aren't overly flashy.

They just run the ball—and make life hell for you on offense.

Against a Cardinals team that upset the Eagles on Sunday, they shouldn't have an issue tightening up on defense once again.

Larry Fitzgerald will always pose a problem, but there isn't much firepower around him for Arizona to spring another surprise win.

Chicago Bears

The Bears are another sizzling NFC team. They're winners of four straight after beginning the year 2-3, and are getting impact plays not only from Matt Forte but also the now well-protected Jay Cutler.

Their defense is turning the ball over, and even an early season knee injury to Julius Peppers hasn't slowed the Pro Bowl defensive end down whatsoever.

The turnover-prone Philip Rivers and his desperate Chargers come to town on Sunday.

San Diego's offensive line is ravaged with injury, and we saw how porous they were against the Raiders on Thursday.

Not a great matchup for the Chargers.

It won't be a bitterly cold day in the Windy City, but with Peppers' attack off the edge and the secondary waiting to jump on any poor decision by Rivers, this game could get out of hand.

Although he was relatively quiet against the Lions, expect a big day from Matt Forte.

Houston Texans

The Texans finally get their bye, but go into it knowing that quarterback Matt Schaub is out for the season with a foot injury.

The reins of the offense have been handed to Matt Leinart.

This makes for an interesting end to the season in Houston.
