NFL Predictions: Was Dolphins/Broncos Game a Sign of the Future in Miami?
Was I the only one who wasn’t lost on the fact that Urban Meyer looked all too comfortable on the Dolphins sideline with team owner Stephen Ross?
While Tim Tebow was engineering a fourth-quarter comeback against the home team in Miami, I could not help but think the coziness of the two looked odd and may mean more than just a celebration of the 2007 Florida Gators.
Meyer, who left the Gators after last season, was in south Florida to be part of the celebration and of course, to take in a viewing of his prized pupil, Tebow.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He was all smiles with Ross, even when the Dolphins, who lost 18-15, were allowing “Superman” to make another incredible comeback.
So, I ask (as I gulp), “Is Meyer going to be the next head coach of the Dolphins?”
It has been rumored and speculated that there are other head coaches who might be interested in the Dolphins’ job, most notably Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden. But Gruden appears entrenched in the Monday Night Football booth on ESPN, and Cowher has been rumored to buy property in various cities, most recently Jacksonville, and appears to be going nowhere.
So where would this leave Meyer, who does not have NFL experience, and would he take a shot at bringing Tebow to Denver?
A move like this, and it is purely speculation on my part, would turn the Dolphins, the Broncos and the NFL on its ear.
First, Tebow is still learning on the fly. He is the starter on a losing team that needs a spark more than anything. For 55 minutes on Sunday, he looked like a lost schoolboy on a field with men.
And then the “Tebow magic” took over and within two minutes, the Broncos had two touchdowns, a two-point conversion and a spot in overtime for a victory.
Tebow’s popularity in Denver was just as great in Miami this past weekend as the marketing department of the Dolphins used his celebrity to move 10,000 tickets for the game.
Could Tebow have the same affect if he was on the Dolphins next year?
You bet.
Can he turn around the Dolphins?
Probably not.
Tebow is a lot of things, and been called a lot things. But he is not a savior unto himself. And, Meyer is the type of guy, like a Steve Spurrier, who will try and invoke his will on the team and the league with the “Spread Offense” while implementing college ideal on a team of men.
And the offensive scheme of Spurrier did not work in the NFL with the Redskins and he was out of the league in two years.
Meyer may set the Dolphins back even further if this happens.
But, again this is purely speculation.
You never know when a picture, worth a thousand words, can spark a debate, even if it is purely speculative.
