UFC 136 Fight Card: Jose Aldo Will Punish Kenny Florian to Defend Title
The UFC 136 card tonight is not one of the most anticipated cards that has been released this year, but there still are some quality matches that will take place.
The most intriguing to most isn't actually the main event scheduled between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard.
The fight before features one of the newer additions to the UFC, Jose Aldo and Kenny Florian who will challenge for the featherweight championship.
Jose Aldo has a career 19-1 record in MMA, but is just 1-0 in the UFC after his fight earlier this year.
Of his 19 wins, 12 have come by way of knockout.
What makes Aldo dangerous is his striking ability, primarily his kicking ability. The Brazilian Muay Thai fighter has made a name for himself through his devastating strikes.
It's a striking ability like this that challenger Kenny Florian (14-5) has never seen before.
Florian had a unique road to the championship fight. He has fought in four weight classes during his time in the UFC.
This makes him the most experienced fighter that Aldo will have ever faced. Despite this experience, he has never seen anyone with the ability quite like Aldo before.
This will be Florian's third championship fight in his career, and it could end quicker than the first two.
Florian has lost to Sean Sherk in his first title fight by decision for the vacant UFC lightweight championship.
He lost his second title fight to B.J. Penn by submission for the UFC lightweight championship.
For his third title fight, expect Florian to be knocked out by Aldo for the UFC featherweight championship.
After tonight, Florian will have lost three title fights in three different ways.
