MLB Playoff Bracket 2011: Karma Will Catch Up to New York Yankees in Postseason
The final night of regular season baseball was one of the most exciting nights in MLB history, but the New York Yankees ruined it.
In the final inning, the Yankees led the Tampa Rays by a run, and did the unthinkable. They left one of the best closers the game has ever seen on the bench. The Yankees didn't send Mariano Rivera out to close out the game, which likely would have forced the Rays to earn their way into the playoffs by knocking off the Red Sox in a play-in game.
The Yankees blew it. They failed to respect the game of baseball, and they allowed the Rays to get into the playoffs without their best team on the field to stop them.
