Dez Bryant Injury: Cowboys Need Star WR to Defeat Redskins
The Dallas Cowboys offense enters Monday night’s crucial game against the Washington Redskins with a lot more questions than answers right now. One of those questions is wide receiver Dez Bryant, who is listed as questionable for this game with a quadriceps injury.
But the second-year wide receiver was able to participate in Sunday’s walkthrough, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
That is great news for the Cowboys, who are desperate to get anyone from their first team offense onto the field in this game. They need all the bodies that they can get, sure. But they need bodies that are capable of producing as well.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Miles Austin, the team’s best receiver, is going to miss at least one week with a hamstring injury, so Bryant’s presence becomes increasingly important for this team.
Even if Bryant isn’t at 100 percent, he still has the ability to make a play or two when he is out there. He may not be able to play as much as he normally would, but that is a risk worth taking for this team right now.
They enter this game at 1-1. A victory will put them in a three-way tie with the Redskins and New York Giants atop the division, with the Eagles bringing up the rear at 1-2. Given the way the Cowboys started last season, it is imperative that they get off to a quick start this season.
They had the Jets on the ropes in Week 1, and Bryant had a good game with 71 yards and one touchdown catch in the game, but the team was unable to close things out.
Now, just three weeks into the season, the Cowboys have a chance to make up for that heartbreaking loss by defeating one of their biggest rivals on Monday Night Football.
They need Bryant on the field to be able to do that, because the tandem of Jesse Holley and Kevin Ogletree are not going to get it done for this team.
Tony Romo is likely going to play in this game with a broken rib and punctured lung, but he needs a safety net at wide receiver to protect him in this game.
Bryant, even at 75 percent, is going to be Romo’s go-to receiver in this game because Romo has more trust in him than anyone other receiver that will be playing in this game.
The Cowboys are going to let Bryant play in this game because they need him if they want to have a chance, and Bryant is going to play because he knows that he is going to get more balls thrown his way with Austin sitting out.
