Steven Jackson Injury: Timing of Jackson's Injury Could Be Worse for Rams
The St. Louis Rams got both good news and bad news concerning their many injured players on Monday.
The good news is that quarterback Sam Bradford is okay. According to the Rams' official Twitter feed, Bradford suffered a mere bruised finger in the team's 31-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. He should be good to go on Monday night, away versus the New York Giants.
The bad news is that nobody else is okay. Several players went down with injuries against the Eagles, and not all of them are as lucky as Bradford.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This includes Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson. He left after just two carries on Sunday, and the word on him is that he has a strained quadricep. He is "likely" to miss the team's Monday nighter in New York.
Obviously, not the best news the Rams could have gotten. Their offense looked totally flat after Jackson had to leave the game, and you just wonder how much he could have done had he been able to keep running right at Philly's less-than-formidable front seven. Judging from his 47-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, probably a lot.
But you know what, Rams fans? Things could be worse. Jackson's injury could have been more serious, and the timing of it is actually kind of convenient as far as injuries go.
The reason I say this is because the Rams are about to be up against a much different defense on Monday night. Thanks in large part to their own injuries, the Giants pass defense is not going to be as impenetrable as that of the Eagles. Unlike the Eagles, the Giants can be beaten through the air pretty easily—just ask Rex Grossman.
The Washington Redskins quarterback torched the Giants for 305 yards passing and two touchdowns on Sunday, and he was able to do this despite very little help from the running game, which gained just 74 yards on 26 carries.
In so many words, you don't need a studly rushing attack to beat the Giants. Having Jackson certainly couldn't hurt, but the Giants defense is almost the polar opposite of the Eagles defense at this point in time. Bradford should be able to overcome it on his own.
If all goes well, Jackson will be back out there on September 25 against the Baltimore Ravens. If he does, he will return to the task of trying to navigate a Ravens defense that allowed just 66 yards rushing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Lucky him.
