Plaxico Burress: Embattled WR Will Shine in Growing Jets Offense
Every quarterback needs a security blanket and, for Mark Sanchez, Plaxico Burress will be just that.
The young signal caller is growing into his own in the Big Apple and in his first two seasons as a pro, he has lead the New York Jets to consecutive AFC Championship games. Now, with the departure of Braylon Edwards, Rex Ryan had to get his quarterback a big, reliable target.
That is where Burress comes in.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The former Giants star who caught the game-winning touchdown in the Super Bowl came out of jail and stepped right in with the Jets, who embraced him, making him an integral part of the offense. When Sanchez needs to make a tight pass in the end zone, Burress will be there.
Few players are better at going up and getting the ball than Burress and Sanchez will benefit because of it.
New York has a potent attack on offense and with Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson in the backfield the passing game has every chance to shine. Sanchez is growing into his own as a passer and he will help resurrect Burress' broken career.
There is a lot of pressure on the Jets, who always speak with bluster and confidence, but that is part of the team's mystique, and Burress, who was written off for dead, will fight right in with Ryan's band of misfits. No one is expecting him to catch two touchdowns in tonight's opener, but Burress has the body and skill set to shake it off and make an impact in the passing game.
Burress will fly under the radar in an passing game dominated by Santonio Holmes and when you throw a player like Derrick Mason on the roster next to him, it gives him the types of match-ups he used to feed on as a member of the Giants and Steelers.
It has been a long time since we heard Burress' name called, but it won't take long as a member of the Jets.
