Reaction To Dwight Howard's Monster Game From Around The NBA

GoBears 2008Nov 13, 2008

In a 109-92 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, Dwight Howard recorded a monstrous 30-point, 19-rebound, 10-block triple-double. Bleacher Report has managed to gather reactions from around the league (and beyond).

Jameer Nelson (PG, Magic): "Hey, anyone care that I was only six assists away from a triple-double myself?"

J.J. Redick (SG, Magic): "How am I supposed to get any shots when Howard's playing like this? Maybe I should've skipped college, too. I'd still be considered a bust, but some team would give me playing time anyway because of the upside I showed in high school."

Amare Stoudemire (PF, Suns): "Well, it only took a week to upstage my 49-11-5. However, they still call me STAT."

T.J. Ford (PG, Pacers): "I had 18 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists, and it wasn't playing against the worst team in the league. Without their best player, I might add."

Joe Smith (PF, Thunder): "That's nice, but Howard's a former No. 1-overall pick. He's expected to do that."

Robert Swift (C, Thunder): "Durant would've schooled him...Oh, you mean I was supposed to cover Howard?"

T. Boone Pickens (entrepreneur): "If I give Oklahoma State athletics another $100 million, will Howard send his kids there? Better yet, if I gave him $100 million, would he sign with the Thunder?"

Randolph Morris (C, Hawks): "I had a rebound and a turnover to go with my four fouls—in only four minutes of play. Filling the stat sheet, that's what it's all about!"

Greg Oden (C, Blazers): "If I wasn't constantly injured and therefore out of shape from sitting on the bench, and was the focal point of the offense, and played in the East against inferior opponents, and...oh, that's right, the Thunder are in our division. They're going down!"

Shaquille O'Neil (C, Suns): "What a great performance, proving that a center can dominate despite shooting 6-13 at the line. Too bad I missed it, I was too busy tossing Yao and McGrady around."

Ron Artest (SF, Rockets): "There was a brawl? Where?"

Ricky Davis: "I couldn't do that, even if I tried."

Dikembe Mutombo: "I have 10 of those." (wags finger)

Hakeem Olajuwon: "I added 10 assists to one of my triple doubles."

Jason Kidd (PG, Mavs): "Congratulations. Only 99 more to go..."

Al Harrington (SF, Warriors): "If I pout on the bench long enough, will I be able to play on his team? Will I? Will I?"

Kobe: "81! 8-1!"

Phil Jackson: "Ok, I'll stay as coach, but only if you trade for Howard immediately."
