UFC 133: Rashad Evans Eyeing a Potential Title Shot Against Jon Jones
As he prepares for his upcoming bout against Tito Ortiz at UFC 133, Rashad Evans knows he is one win away from receiving a title shot.
Evans spoke to FightersOnly.co.uk about potentially being rewarded with a shot and he is optimistic about who he will challenge for the UFC light heavyweight championship.
"It would be amazing to beat Jon Jones for that belt," Evans said.

"I know if I get to fight Jon Jones for that belt, I know I'm going to beat Jon Jones. I already know it and Jon knows it."
Evans is quite confident in his abilities and he has every reason to feel that way. He is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and has beaten some of the top competitors in the sport to remain as one of the elite fighters at 205 lbs.
Originally, Evans and Jones were expected to meet at UFC 133 until Jones withdrew from the bout due to a hand injury. The two former teammates had a falling out after Jones became UFC light heavyweight champion at UFC 128, which ultimately forced Evans to look for a new training camp. Since then, their ongoing feud has gone public.
"There's a reason why every time he sees me, he tries to act all huffy and puffy and he wants to act like he's tough or try to portray like he is. I see right through that kid," he said.
"I know all his weaknesses and I know how to capitalize on those weaknesses," he added.
Should Evans get past Ortiz, he will finally earn the opportunity to challenge for the title, something he has been anticipating since last year. And should Jones defeat Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 135, both competitors will certainly be looking to settle the score against one another.
“My technique could be total sh*t, trash. But I know one thing, I can make him quit. And he will quit,” Evans said.
