Dana White Says Issues with Alistair Overeem and Lyoto Machida Will Be Resolved
Over the last month the UFC has made some necessary changes to their upcoming events in hopes of still retaining some marketable value. The recent injury bug has affected them greatly, but it's not to be outdone without some controversy along the way.
While searching for an opponent for Rashad Evans in the main event at UFC 133, UFC president Dana White offered the bout to Lyoto Machida. Machida initially accepted the bout with Evans, only for his management to renegotiate contract demands that frustrated White and forced him to offer the fight to Tito Ortiz.
And recently, Alistair Overeem was pulled from the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix after he said he would not be physically prepared for the second round in September.

According to MMAFighting.com, White addressed the situation at pre-UFC 135 press conference, regarding the current status of both Machida and Overeem. In regards to Machida, White said he was disappointed in the Brazilian's camp and their actions towards the bout, but he believes things will smooth over.
"Things are going to work out with Machida," White said.
As for Overeem, White confirmed the Dutch striker is currently out with a toe injury and will be unable to compete by September.
"He hurt his toe, pulled out of the fight," he said
Although there are suitable replacements for the fighters, the original opponents who are forced to withdraw ultimately hurts the attraction of the event and the overall product. However, White said injuries are a part of the business and he has learned to accept it.
"If you say you're hurt, you're hurt," he said.
"There's been a lot of that lately. If I got mad at guys who got hurt, I'd be really pissed off right now. It is what it is."
