Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
-The show started off with Triple H coming out and saying that last night might have been Undertaker's final match after the beating he gave him. The Undertaker will definitely be back by the next WrestleMania, but he might be legitimately injured. Although it was a good match, the finish to Undertaker/Triple H was a bit anticlimactic. It seemed like Triple H might have improvised the ending when he tapped out. The story makes sense, though. Major props to Taker if he was just selling. In that case, it was brilliant.
-I'm surprised that Triple H is still alive. Didn't he say that he was going to end the streak or die trying? Liar!
-Triple H says that when The Undertaker comes back, he'll be waiting. I hope not. We know he's not ending the streak. John Cena would've been the perfect challenger, but it looks like he'll be occupied with his own match. Undertaker vs. Miz in a Streak vs. Streak match in The Undertaker's final match could be money. Either The Undertaker retires with the streak intact or a new streak begins.
-Michael Cole's promo about how he is undefeated at WrestleMania and the new Mr. WrestleMania was brilliant. It's amazing how he could say such ridiculous things and still have the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.
-As hilarious as Cole's bit about challenging The Undertaker next year was, The Miz should've also cut some promo about how he's still undefeated. They started it last year, so they might as well have gone on with it.
-Oh god, there's Booker T. I'd like him a lot more on commentary if someone stitched his lips shut. Don't do that to him, though. He might CALL THE POLICE~!
-Orton & Mysterio vs. Rhodes & Punk was a solid 15 minute match. We rarely see those on RAW anymore. More, please!
-Steve Austin brought out the cast of Tough Enough to introduce themselves. I don't know how real Tough Enough is, but it's obviously not 100 percent real. The episodes are taped, so some of the contestants have already been eliminated, yet they all came out here.
-The show itself is actually a lot more entertaining than I expected it to be. Steve Austin was fantastic in his role. The look on his face when that chick said that her favorite match is Melina vs. Alicia Fox was priceless. None of the contestants themselves have really stood out yet, but the format is a lot better than it was a few years ago. I highly recommend checking it out.
-I marked out for Steve Austin hitting his signature moves on Alex Riley and pouring beer on Cole. He looks like he can still go in the ring.
-Del Rio defeated Evan Bourne in about two minutes. That's a weird way to come back from losing one of the WrestleMania main events. No promo or anything?
-Edge going over Del Rio was a bit weird. They built Del Rio up like that for months just to have him lose when it actually mattered? I don't see any positives in having Edge win.
-What is that "CHE" noice that Brodus Clay keeps making? It sounds like he needs to take a dump but is trying to hold it in.
-John Morrison & Trish Stratus went over Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero in three minutes. I just don't see the appeal behind Morrison. Other than his three flashy moves, he's really got nothing going for him. Hopefully, the IWC will cool down about him now that Sin Cara has made his debut.
-Although Sin Cara botched that leap over the top rope, he looked pretty comfortable doing just about everything else. Looked much smoother than Mysterio, Morrison, Kingston, etc. I've seen some of his work and the guy is amazing. He needs a new outfit, though. We already have one homeless Power Ranger.
-"Great fashion advice from the Tooth Fairy" was an awesome line by Cena.
-To end the show, The Rock and John Cena shook hands and took out The Corre guys who came out for some reason. Were they lost? The Rock and John Cena shook hands again. Then, they ate Fruity Pebbles together. OK, I made that last part up. But that would have been epic.
-So, The Rock vs. John Cena has been booked for WrestleMania 28. I honestly don't know what to say. On one hand, this is a match that everybody wants to see. On the other hand, one year is a long time. What if one of them gets injured? Another interesting question is how they will build this up. Will we forget about this for the next 10 months or will The Rock make sporadic appearance to slowly build this match up? I can't remember the last time WWE had a feud that lasted this long. It should be interesting to see their approach to it.
Overall, this RAW gets a 7/10. It was a solid show, although not that much progress was made.
On a side note, I did catch this week's Tough Enough and I enjoyed it very much. It's easily a lot better than most of the other WWE programming because it actually feels legitimate. The fact that Steve Austin decides everything, rather than some fan vote, only adds to its credibility. Another thing I like is that most of the competitors look like normal dudes rather than trained wrestlers. It helps people relate to them. All I have to say is that I am more hyped for this show than I am for RAW or SmackDown. I might cover it if I find the time. We'll see.
I will be right back here this Friday with my weekly SmackDown review entitled "Smack Talk," but until then, I'm out!
