WWE Raw Just Got Exciting Again After Shock Debut and More Fallout Including a Booking Fail

As WWE ramps up for a journey to Mexico City next month, the August 24 edition of Raw on Netflix delivered spectacle from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

LA Knight and Solo Sikoa challenged The Usos only to be attacking by the returning Royce Keys and his new allies from NXT, OTM.

Penta and Rey Fénix advanced to the finals of the luchador No. 1 contender tournament in great matches with La Parka and Dragon Lee.

This and more highlighted an exciting show for Raw that might have set the show back on track.

Massive Shocker Just Changed Everything on Raw

While it looked like the battle lines in WWE were set as Solo Sikoa and LA Knight collided with The Bloodline, a new group has arrived to shake things up.

Despite previously working with Sikoa and Knight, Royce Keys led an attack alongside Bronco Nima and Lucien Price from NXT against the popular babyfaces.

This sets the stage for three conflicting sides to battle on Raw, elevating multiple underused names on Raw that could soon be seen as top stars.

In particular, this heel turn makes Keys feel like a real threat for the first time since his WWE arrival, and he is backed by two talented, hungry newcomers in OTM.

With the consistently growing popularity of Knight and Sikoa, any heels that contest them will get heat.

This also makes the conflict with The Bloodline, that was already running out of steam, new life as fresh faces are caught in the mix.

Suddenly, anything can happen, and all WWE needs to do is stay unpredictable. That unfortunately has been difficult for the company though.

Stephanie Vaquer Shows Exactly Why WWE Needs Her

Stephanie Vaquer is back in the action, and she looked great against Roxanne Perez, clearly working at her physical peak again in the ring.

These are the kind of matches that keep fans invested in the Raw women's division, highlighting the talent that can perform at the highest level.

La Primera can deliver this performance against anyone on Raw, and WWE should let her do so.

Do not simply keep her in backstage segment after a likely loss to Liv Morgan. She should be wrestling.

WWE should find ways from singles to tag to six-man action to keep stars like Vaquer, Perez, Iyo Sky, Sol Ruca and more wrestling at least every other week.

How WWE Can Ace Lola Vice's Debut

While the women's division on Raw still feels understaffed with numerous absences, the teased arrival of Lola Vice soon should help.

The former NXT women's champion will be a quick hit on the main roster due to her hard-hitting in-ring style and flashy presentation.

Vice is a star both in style and talent that can instantly elevate the midcard women's division while she establishes her name.

In particular, pitting her against Women's intercontinental champion Raquel Rodriguez gives an important fresh challenger to that title scene.

She and Sol Ruca can serve as the primary babyface threat to capture the gold while Lyra Valkyria and Roxanne Perez serves as the main heel threats.

This is a strong foundation built off recent years of NXT and suddenly makes this division look relevant.

If WWE really wants to make Vice shine off the bat, it would make sense for her to even take the gold from Rodriguez, even just in a short reign like Ruca's.

With the championship switching hands, it will be clear that anyone on this roster is a threat to capture the gold at any time.

The Big Cass Experiment is a Big Dud

What is the point of Big Cass on Raw?

He has beat up and slowed the momentum of Je'Von Evans, who was already the slowest riser of the fresh NXT call-ups.

At most, his threat also extends to luchadors like Penta, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio, but the big man beating up the smaller competitors is not compelling storytelling on its own.

Cass has more charisma than he has showcased so far, even if the plan is not for Enzo Amore to join him on Raw.

He could at least talk as much as Baron Corbin has on SmackDown, who is awkwardly looking like the better fit in the same role as Cass.

If WWE does not find a way to showcase Cass's personality soon, he is going to quickly become a lost cause, falling back into the shuffle like Rusev and Ethan Page before him.

Raw Needs More AAA in the Future

If WWE needs fresh names on Raw that can instantly work crowd-pleasing matches, there is no better place to look than AAA.

La Parka, El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, Laredo Kid and El Fiscal all delivered in their spots for the No. 1 contender tournament.

The only shame was that WWE had not highlighted them all more before this to sell them as real threats to win over the luchadors working Raw and SmackDown.

Raw could use a good 20-minute block weekly for AAA luchadors to showcase their talent against established Raw stars.

Add in El Hijo del Vikingo and Octagón Jr. when they are healthy alongside more opportunities for Mr. Iguana, and the rotation of luchadors could become the spectacle match Raw needs.

This is not even mentioning the possibility of Flammer, Lady Shani, La Catalina and Faby Apache adding fresh names to the women's division rotation.

AAA is a company owned and run by WWE. Why not try to elevate the talent in AAA while making Raw better weekly?
