Rodgers, Favre Perform Well, While 'Niners Probably Wonder Where They Went Wrong
It’s great to see that Aaron Rodgers had an excellent debut for the Packers; however, he might want to practice his “Lambeau Leap.”
It was also good to see Brett Favre do well, although as a ’Niner fan, I always root against him because he dashed my team’s hopes a few times. That’s just sports stuff, though.
Saying something nice about Favre probably shocks some Green Bay Cheeseheads, who might remember me for writing about the Favre-caused soap opera this summer in which I called him an ephebic brat.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I realizI sent most Cheeseheads to the Thesaurus or dictionary, but the way he was acting was like a spoiled brat.
However, I don’t want to the guy do badly or get hurt, even though I still stand by my statement that allowing Michael Strahan to sack him and go one past Mark Gastineau for the all-time sack record was wrong and I consider it cheating.
By saying that, I must stress that I have nothing against Strahan for making that sack, but if I were him, if the NFL would allow it, I would throw it back to Favre.
Back to Rodgers.
I can’t help but think that 'Niners front-office circus must be wondering where they went wrong, since Packers’ Head Coach Mike McCarthy was one of the principle reasons why San Francisco chose Alex Smith No. 1 four years ago, rather than Rodgers, a 49ers’ fan who wore a Joe Montana No. 16 T-shirt under his jersey while he played at Cal.
At that time, McCarthy was working for the 49ers.
Of course, one game does not make a season nor does it make a career, but the difference between Smith and Rodgers may be something that could haunt ’Niners’ fans for years to come.
It’s possible that Rodgers could tank, but I hope he doesn’t. It’s way too early to tell and there is a grueling season and at least 15 games ahead for Rodgers, if he remains healthy.
I believe JT O’Sullivan was also a 49ers Faithful growing up, and I like his attitude, and I’m not going cold on him. I just don’t think the 49ers’ receiving corps is that good, even with Isaac Bruce.
As for Smith, let’s hope his shoulder can be fixed and he can continue with some team and play well into the future. This kid is a class act.
Smith also didn’t have a decent receiving corps, so it helps that Rodgers has weapons to throw to.
For 49er tight end Vernon Davis, this is the year for him to prove he was worth that sixth pick.
