NBA Fantasy Basketball Box Score Breakouts: 10/27/10

Here’s a look at some fantasy basketball players that blew up the box score last night.


Glen Davis, Boston Celtics
Big Baby had his second solid game, posting 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting. He’s not averaging 13.5 points and five rebounds while shooting 72.2 percent from the field.


Daniel Gibson, Cleveland Cavaliers
Gibson picked up the slack with Mo Williams out scoring 16 points with eight assists. He did struggle with his shot though, hitting just four of his 14 shots.


James Jones, Miami Heat
Jones had more points (20) than LeBron (16) or Bosh (15) thanks to his six three-pointers. He had just six points in the opener so consistency will likely be an issue. He is a good bet for three-pointers though.


Lou Williams, Philadelphia 76ers
Lou had 15 points, a trio of three-pointers and seven assists off the bench. Jrue Holiday will have better days, but Williams will be instant offense from the bench.


Marco Belinelli, New Orleans Hornets
He struggled with his shot, hitting just 6-of-15 attempts, but finished with 18 points and six rebounds. He played 35 minutes while Marcus Thornton, who averaged 14.5 points last year, played just 11.


Francisco Garcia, Sacramento Kings
Garcia has 22 points, four assists and three steals while Tyreke Evans served his one-game suspension. He’ll have a key role on the team, but his playing time will decrease going forward.

Anthony Tolliver, Minnesota Timberwolves
Tolliver had 14 points and seven rebounds. He nailed a pair of three-pointers and blocked four shots. He actually played more minutes (28) than Kevin Love (24), which is puzzling. Then again, that’s why bad teams are that way. It’s going to be hard to rely on Wolves players this year because of inconsistency and odd playing time decisions.


Taj Gibson, Chicago Bulls
So far so good without Boozer for Taj as he had 16 points, 12 rebounds and two steals. He hit 8-of-12 of his shots.


Zaza Pachulia, Atlanta Hawks
Pachulia had a strong start to the season, netting a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds). He played more minutes (30) than Al Horford (18), which won’t be the case on most nights.


Chuck Hayes, Houston Rockets
Hayes had 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists as Yao Ming sat out the second half of back-to-back games. He can be used as a spot start in such instances, but cannot be counted on in weekly lineups.

Rasual Butler, Los Angeles Clippers
Butler came off the bench to score 16 points. He drilled four three-pointers. He’s a decent bench option, especially if you need a boost in threes, but won't be a fantasy starter unless somebody gets hurt.
