NBA Fantasy Helper: Don't Tell Anyone These Sleepers

Sachin AroraOct 25, 2010

In the NBA, there are the players who get the fame, the limelight and all the attention. And then there are the sleepers that those NBA analysts suggest for your fantasy team.

These are the guys that even those analysts are forgetting about. Here are some sleepers to help your fantasy team, and there is a good chance you will be able to get them in your fantasy league.

Linas Kleiza

Kleiza signed with the Raptors this offseason, is expected to have the starting small forward role with the team, and figures to play a major role. He is a very young player, and many people didn’t realize how solid he was playing behind Carmelo Anthony.

He went overseas to improve his overall game, and starred in the FIBA worlds this summer.

Look to draft Kleiza as a No. 3 forward for your team in standard leagues, but know that he could end up much better.

Robin Lopez

Robin Lopez has been labeled as the “bad” Lopez, or inferior to his brother Brook Lopez. While this is probably the case, Robin has never really had a chance to showcase his skill fully.

Last year, when he was healthy and got minutes, he was a solid defender, a great rebounder and a decent scorer. This should only improve with time.

With Amar'e Stoudemire gone, Lopez figures to be the starter for the Suns and should play a major role in their offense and rebounding.

Draft him as a No. 2 center with tremendous upside.

J.J. Hickson

J.J. Hickson has officially been labeled the starter for the Cavs, and he figures to play a major role for the team after the loss of LeBron James.

I was able to pick him up in the later rounds of my draft, and if he’s available, take him as a No. 4 forward.

Jeff Teague

Jeff Teague is a great, young talent, and he should eventually be able to take the starting job this season from an aging Mike Bibby.

If Teague ends up getting the starting job, he should be considered a No. 4 guard with tons of upside.

Kevin Love

This guy is already considered a great fantasy option, a double double machine.

But this guy has monster potential and figures to star for the T’Wolves squad. He should be able to put up at least 20-10 and after the big forwards are off the board, look for Love.
