LeSean McCoy Injured: What Else Can Go Wrong for the Eagles?
And the player of the week for the Philadelphia Eagles is… Peter DeLuca, Eagles team doctor.
In last week's game against the Redskins alone, the Eagles saw Michael Vick go down with what is being called a rib cartilage injury, Asante Samuels and Riley Cooper both ended up with concussions, Andy Reid received a broken mustache due to a stray snowball that was intended to hit a local man dressed as Santa Claus and LeSean McCoy broke a rib.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, Andy Reid will recover and coach this Sunday. LeSean McCoy, however, may not be so lucky, as he could sit out Sunday's game against the 49ers.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This obviously would be a huge blow for Philadelphia, as McCoy is the Eagles leading rusher, with 273 yards and four touchdowns so far this season, and an effective pass catcher out of the backfield as well, with 172 receiving yards this season.
So, as the Eagles drop like flies, here are a handful of other things that they had better avoid or need to do better if they want to be in the running to win the NFC East.
Stop the run!
In four games this year, Philadelphia has given up 555 rushing yards, putting them at 138.8 yards per game, good for 28th in the league.
Prior to the season, it looked as if the lack of depth at corner would make it tough for the Eagles to stop a good passing attack. At some point, however, the team stepped up to cover that weakness, but left running lanes open all over the place.
An inability to stop the run game will eventually lead to an opening in the passing game, as it did in week two as Philadelphia narrowly escaped an embarrassing loss to Detroit.
Philly allowed Jahvid Best get loose on a few plays early, which led to the passing game opening up, giving Shaun Hill, a nine-year backup, 335 passing yards, his career high.
Avoid a Quarterback Controversy
Andy Reid did good with this one the first time he had to put in a backup quarterback for the starter after he went down with an injury. He inserted Michael Vick into the lineup and from there he stuck to his guns.
Vick went on to be very productive for the next two weeks racking up 750 passing yards and 194 rushing yards in ten full quarters of play.
Now things may get interesting.
Kevin Kolb will most likely be starting, and hopefully completing his first full game of the season. If he does good, then Reid must carefully weigh his options and pick one quarterback and stick to him.
Going with multiple quarterbacks in a single game totally gets rid of any offensive rhythm in a game and it can create a bruised ego if one quarterback is sucking on sour grapes while the other is getting all the big plays.
Protect Your Quarterback
Coming into the year, Philadelphia's offensive line didn't look great. Now they are talking about replacing starting right guard Max Jean-Gilles with a brick of Swiss Cheese, claiming that the cheese has fewer holes than the number Jean-Gilles left open. (Hey-ooo!)
The big uglys for Philly have allowed 15 sacks this year, just three off the pace for most in the league, an honor which is held by the Bears after giving up 10 sacks Sunday night to the Giants.
They have also allowed their quarterback to be hit in the pocket a whopping 28 times. No wonder Kevin Kolb was concussed and Michael Vick is always having to scurry around.
When there are that many holes in your line it is always in the head of the quarterback that he has to hurry, because the pressure is coming, and it's not a matter of if with the Eagles o-line, its when.
So hope and pray Philly fans, who knows, if you're good then Santa Claus may bring you playoffs for Christmas, just don't boo him if he leaves you a lump of coal.
