Jason Campbell on the new direction in DC
Jason Campbell watched the Mike Shanahan press conference with Rock Cartwright and others. When asked by Rick "Doc" Walker about what he thought of the presser, Campbell immediately mentioned that he liked Shanahan's emphasis on discipline and hard work in the offseason as the basis of success.
When asked about turning this around in this franchise, Campbell said a winning team would have to do the opposite of what was done this year, citing the 4-12 record as evidence of this. He also said it is important to "keep things in-house" and that teammates who disagree with each other to discuss the matter together and not take it public. He mentioned that he has talked to Clinton Portis, with whom he has had a much-publicized feud this week, and that he doesn't believe it will be a problem next season if the two are still on the roster. "I'm going forward," Campbell said flatly.

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Both John Thompson and Doc Walker went out of their way to defend Portis and his comments about Campbell, saying they had been misconstrued. "He was not personally trying to attack you," Thompson assured Campbell. I didn't buy that before and I still don't buy it and I think the way the two of them have fallen over themselves to protect Portis is rather unseemly.
"Everyone knows who is in control," Campbell said when asked about why Shanahan can improve the franchise. Citing the working relationship between GM Bruce Allen and Shanahan, Campbell voiced confidence that the two of them would make the personnel decisions to turn the team around. Discussing the offense, Campbell said he thought it would help to have "one guy in control" rather than the confusing system of Jim Zorn, Sherman Smith and Sherman Lewis all calling plays and having major input into the game plan
