Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano will have ample time to let his injured hand heal.
Per MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the eight-time All-Star's fractured right hand will require surgery.
MLB announced Tuesday that Cano has been suspended 80 games after testing positive for a banned substance.

In a statement released through the MLB Players Association, Cano denied he took any performance-enhancing substances:
"Recently I learned that I tested positive for a substance called furosemide, which is not a performance-enhancing substance. Furosemide is used to treat various medical conditions in the United States and the Dominican Republic. This substance was given to me by a licensed doctor in the Dominican Republic to treat a medical ailment. While I did not realize at the time that I was given a medication that was banned, I obviously now wish that I had been more careful.
"For more than 15 years, playing professional baseball has been the greatest honor and privilege of my life. I would never do anything to cheat the rules of the game that I love, and after undergoing dozens of drug tests over more than a decade, I have never tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance for the simple reason that I have never taken one."
Cano suffered the injury during Seattle's 5-4 loss in Detroit on Sunday when he was hit by a pitch in the third inning from Tigers starter Blaine Hardy.
The Mariners placed him on the 10-day disabled list prior to Monday's 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins. Gordon Beckham was called up from Triple-A Tacoma to take his spot on the 25-man roster.
Cano will be allowed to serve his 80-game suspension while recovering from his injury. The first game he will be eligible to play after his suspension ends is Aug. 14 against the Oakland Athletics.
