Terry Rozier: Knocking Ball Off Joel Embiid to Win Game 5 'A Championship Play'
The Boston Celtics were nursing a two-point lead in the waning seconds of Wednesday's Game 5 in their second-round playoff series when it appeared as though Philadelphia 76ers All-Star big man Joel Embiid was going to tie the contest and potentially force overtime.
Embiid missed a short shot on the blocks and came down with another opportunity hanging in the balance, but Terry Rozier knocked the ball off Embiid to give Boston possession.
The point guard called it "a championship play," per Boston.com, as it helped propel Boston into the Eastern Conference Finals with a 114-112 win.
Rozier made more championship plays than just that one throughout the series. He filled in admirably for the injured Kyrie Irving, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds Wednesday and a combined 49 points, 15 assists and 15 rebounds in the first two games of the series, both of which were Celtics wins.
He will need to continue playing at an elevated level in the Eastern Conference Finals to help his Celtics get past LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and earn a trip to the NBA Finals.
