Kayvon Webster Released by Rams After LA Adds Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters
The Los Angeles Rams released veteran cornerback Kayvon Webster, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday.
The move comes after the Rams acquired both Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters in trades earlier this offseason.
Webster made 11 starts in his only season in Los Angeles. He finished 2017 with 38 combined tackles and an interception.

In addition to the arrivals of Talib and Peters, Webster's season-ending injury likely factored in to the team's final decision. He suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in the Rams' Week 14 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Researchers at Duke University looked at the 31 Achilles ruptures in the NFL between 1997 and 2002 and found 21 players "saw significant decreases in games played and power ratings" in the three years after the injury than they had displayed in the three seasons prior to the injury.
Even putting that aside, Webster may have a hard time finding a new home this offseason. His lengthy recovery from the Achilles injury could potentially wipe out most of his 2018 campaign, so a team will likely want to wait until he's closer to a return before offering him a contract.
