Odell Beckham Jr. Trade Rumors: 'Exorbitant' Price Led to Rams Passing on Deal
The Los Angeles Rams reportedly had interest in trading for New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., but they weren't willing to pay the high price tag.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Rams considered the compensation to acquire OBJ combined with his upcoming contract extension to be "exorbitant," which yielded no serious conversations.
Instead, L.A. traded the No. 23 overall pick in the 2018 draft and a sixth-rounder to the New England Patriots for wideout Brandin Cooks and a 2018 fourth-round pick.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported last week the Giants were asking for at least two first-round picks for Beckham.
OBJ is coming off a 2017 season in which he was limited to just four games; he fractured his ankle in Week 5 and missed Week 1 with a sprained ankle. He still finished with 25 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns.
In each of his first three seasons, the 25-year-old registered at least 90 catches, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns while being named to three Pro Bowls. He will enter the final year of his contract in 2018 and is in line for one of the largest wide receiver deals in NFL history.
Cooks is also set to play out the final year of his contract next season, but an extension won't be as expensive even though he topped 1,000 yards in each of the past three campaigns.
The Giants selected Beckham with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, while the New Orleans Saints took Cooks 20th overall in the same draft.
