Earl Thomas Discusses Seahawks Contract Talks, Telling Cowboys to 'Come Get' Him
Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas said Saturday at Pro Bowl practice that he doesn't intend to play for the Seahawks next season without a long-term contract extension.
As seen in the following video courtesy of NFL Network's Jane Slater, Thomas said he wouldn't feel comfortable putting his body on the line without a new deal and stressed the importance of protecting himself and his family:

Also, Thomas discussed an incident following a late-season win over the Dallas Cowboys.
According to ESPN.com's Brady Henderson, Thomas caught up with Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett after the contest and said, "If y'all got the chance to come get me, come get me!"
Thomas said Saturday he is a longtime Cowboys fan who got caught up in the moment and listened to his "inner self."
Immediately after the situation involving the Cowboys, Thomas clarified his statement and said he didn't want to go to Dallas until after the Seahawks move on from him:
"We had a great win. I feel like we played lights-out. Just emotional. I went to the locker room to talk to [Dez] Bryant, and I saw Coach Garrett. I've always been a Cowboys fan growing up. But the biggest thing when I say 'Come get me' is, I don't literally mean like, 'Come get me now.' I'm still in the prime of my career. I still want to be here, but when Seattle kicks me to the curb, please—the Cowboys—come get me. That's the only place I would rather be if I get kicked to the curb. So that's what I meant by it. People take life too serious. That's just who I am."
The 28-year-old Thomas was named to his sixth Pro Bowl this season after registering 88 tackles, seven passes defended, two interceptions and one touchdown in 14 games.
He has just one season remaining on his contract, but the Orange, Texas, native is in search of more security.
Thomas is one of the best safeties of his era and has 25 career interceptions, three First Team All-Pro nods and one Super Bowl win to his credit.
He was also a highly durable player with no games missed in his first six seasons, but he has been forced to sit out seven contests over the past two campaigns.
As safety Kam Chancellor deals with a serious neck injury and cornerback Richard Sherman heals his ruptured Achilles, the vaunted Legion of Boom secondary will be in a massive state of uncertainty if the Seahawks don't sign Thomas to an extension.
