B/R Kicks Imagines More NBA Players in the Supreme Shooting Sleeve

Moe MotonDec 13, 2017

On Tuesday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Washington Wizards forward Kelly Oubre caught spectators' eyes against the Nets with a potential new trend to follow in the NBA.

Supreme, a skateboarding shop and clothing brand headquartered in New York City, collaborated with Nike to release an NBA shooting sleeve in the fall/winter season. Oubre wore the accessory on his right leg:

However, NBA higher-ups told Oubre to remove the sleeve, and he offered a serious explanation with a little pizzazz: "It's just something wavy, honestly. I don't know if it's too wavy for them."

League officials will likely have discussions about the sleeve, but the waviness may catch on with other players. If so, imagine if Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James wore the accessory on his arm:

How about other current stars or Allen Iverson, who wore a sleeve during his playing days?

Before games, cameras always catch glimpses of players as they walk in with stylish outfits. It's a fashion league that embraces trends. We'll see if the Supreme sleeve passes protocol and catches on with others on the court.
