Mike Tomlin's Win Total Triggers Contract Option for 2019
Due to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin's success, a contract option for the 2019 season has reportedly been triggered as part of his deal.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tomlin reached the necessary number of wins to have his 2019 vesting option activated, which means he is under contract for at least three more seasons.
Rapoport added that there has been talk about Tomlin and the Steelers coming to terms on an extension through 2020 as well:ย "There have been some conversations between Steelersย brass and Mike Tomlin, and those who represent him and are putting him under contract through 2020. From what I am told, those have not been finalized yet. Nothing is done, nothing has been agreed to as far as being under contract with 2020."

The 45-year-old Tomlin is 103-57 in his 10 seasons as Steelers head coach with a Super Bowl championship to his credit.
In 2016, he led Pittsburgh to an 11-5 mark and a spot in the AFC Championship Game before falling to the New England Patriots.
No team in NFL history has had better coaching stability than the Steelers, as Tomlin is only their third head coach since 1969 after Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher.
Last season, Tomlin became the fastest coach to reach 100 wins in franchise history, and he has yet to register a losing season during his tenure.
