James Palmerโ of the NFL Network provided the status update Tuesday, roughly seven months after Kubiak stepped down from his coaching position because ofย health concerns.
Mike Klisย of KUSA reported the 55-year-old longtime coach, who guided the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 title, is ticketed for a role that will see him "specialize in evaluating college players for the draft while also contributing as part of NFL free-agency efforts."

Offseason Moves for Every Team ๐
Kubiak affirmed his overall commitment and love for the franchise when heย announcedย his decision to retire from coaching in January.
"I'm not sure what my future holds, but I know that I'll always consider myself a Bronco," he said. "This team is in good hands with a lot of outstanding people, and I expect great things ahead for the Denver Broncos."
He spent his entire nine-year playing career in Denver as a backup quarterback to John Elway, who now serves as the Broncos' general manager and hired him as head coach in 2015.
Kubiak started his coaching career with Texas A&M, his alma mater, in 1992 and filled various offensive staff roles with the San Francisco 49ers and Broncos before getting his first chance to become a head coach with the Houston Texans in 2006.
He was the Baltimore Ravens' offensive coordinator for one season (2014) after his eight-year stint with the Texans ended. The Broncos brought him back in 2015, and thanks to a dominant defense and timely contributions from veteran quarterback Peyton Manning, he captured a championship in his first year.
Denver failed to qualify for the playoffs last season despite a 9-7 record, bringing his overall mark with the team to 21-11, but he decided to step down. The Broncos hired Vance Joseph to fill the void.
Now Kubiak will step into what should be a less strenuous role on the personnel staff.
