Joey Gallo Suffers Hamstring Injury vs. Red Sox
Texas Rangers third baseman Joey Gallo left Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox after suffering a hamstring injury, according to team executive vice president of communications John Blake.
Gallo, 23, left the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Pete Kozma pinch-hit for the Rangers slugger, who was 1-for-2 with a single in his first two at-bats.
In his third MLB season (first full), Gallo has been a power force in the Rangers lineup but has struggled getting on base. He's hitting .194/.306/.508 with 21 home runs and 41 runs batted in. Thirty-four of his 48 hits this season have gone for extra bases.

"He's among some of the most powerful guys in the league," Rangers catcher Jonathan Lucroy told Sporting News' Shlomo Sprung. "You put him up there with Aaron Judge, you put him up there with Giancarlo Stanton, in terms of power."
The Rangers have quality depth around their infield, so they should be able to survive if Gallo's out for a short period. Kozma can play either corner infield spot, and Mike Napoli can also play first base.
No formal diagnosis on the extent of Gallo's injury has been given at this time.
