Knicks Rumors: Shelvin Mack, New York 'Have Expressed Mutual Interest'
The New York Knicks and free-agent point guard Shelvin Mack have a mutual interest, though it's unclear if the sides have begun contract talks.
Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reported the news.
Mack, 27, spent the last season-and-a-half with the Utah Jazz. He averaged 7.8 points and 2.8 assists per game in 2016-17, shooting 44.6 percent from the field.

The Jazz have already undergone a transformation at point guard this offseason, trading for Ricky Rubio and (likely) allowing George Hill to walk in free agency. Mack's departure would leave the full-time backup reins to Dante Exum, whose ascent has been halted by injury and inconsistency.
The Knicks' offseason plans are up in the air after the departure of team president Phil Jackson, who was seemingly on a warpath to shake things up and keep alive his beloved triangle offense. Unburdened of Jackson's demands, the Knicks could reshape their roster around the uptempo style head coach Jeff Hornacek used in Phoenix.
Mack could serve as a temporary starter as the team develops Frank Ntilikina, whom it took with the No. 8 overall pick in June's draft.
