Greg Monroe Reportedly Placed on Trade Block by Milwaukee Bucks
Looking to find ways to upgrade their roster for next season, the Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly exploring trade options for center Greg Monroe.
On Saturday, ESPN's Ian Begley reported the Bucks are trying to move Monroe, adding the front office has been "trying to do so on and off for a while."
The Bucks reduced Monroe's role last season, bringing him off the bench. He played a career-low 22.5 minutes per game, and his average points per contest dropped from 15.3 in 2015-16 to 11.7 in 2016-17.
Monroe opted in to the final year of his contract and is set to make $17.9 million, the second-highest salary on the Bucks behind Giannis Antetokounmpo's $22.4 million, per Spotrac.
The Bucks were a playoff team last year with a 42-40 record before losing to the Toronto Raptors in the first round. Monroe did perform well in that six-game series, averaging 13.2 points per game and grabbing 15 rebounds in a Game 1 win.
