John Farrell Suspended 1 Game for Argument with Umpire in Game vs. Angels
Major League Baseball suspended Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell one game and fined him an undisclosed amount after he argued with an umpire during Boston's 6-3 defeat to the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported.
Farrell was ejected in the seventh inning after Red Sox reliever Fernando Abad was called for a balk, which allowed Cameron Maybin to score and put the Angels ahead 5-1.

"Time was called," Farrell said of his reasoning for arguing the call, per ESPN.com. "Time was clearly called before the balk was called, so that was the dispute."
Crew chief Bill Miller said home plate umpire Ryan Blakney had called for time after Abad balked.
As a result of his suspension, Farrell will be absent in the dugout when the Red Sox take on the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. Boston defeated Minnesota 4-1 on Monday after Chris Sale struck out nine in 6.1 innings.
