Patrick Beverley Linked to Utah Jazz in Latest Trade Rumors
As the Houston Rockets reportedly look to free up salary-cap space, the Utah Jazz have been linked to guard Patrick Beverley.
Per Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune, the Jazz made a "trade inquiry" to the Rockets regarding Beverley, and Utah general manager Dennis Lindsey is "actively shopping" for an experienced point guard to add.
ESPN's Marc Stein reported Wednesday that the Rockets aim to "create summer spending flexibility."
Sean Deveney of Sporting News reported Tuesday the Rockets were shopping Beverley to other teams with the hope of freeing cap space and pursuing free agents.
According to Stein, the Rockets have made Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap and Kyle Lowry targets in free agency this summer.
The 28-year-old Beverley has one more guaranteed season on his contract worth $5.5 million, per Spotrac. He averaged 9.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 67 games last season.
George Hill, who was Utah's primary starting point guard last season when healthy, is an unrestricted free agent.
