
Mike Trout Believes He Can Return from Thumb Injury Before MLB All-Star Game
Los Angeles Angels center fielder Mike Trout said Tuesday he believes returning before the All-Star Game on July 11 is a "possibility," according to the Los Angeles Times' Pedro Moura.
Trout has been out since May 29 after he was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his left thumb. After undergoing surgery, the Angels announced Trout would miss six to eight weeks.

If Trout does recover before the Midsummer Classic, the two-time All-Star Game MVP will likely slot into the American League's starting lineup.
According to voting tallies released by Major League Baseball on Tuesday, Trout ranks second among all AL outfielders with 1,582,782 votes. New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge is first among outfielders with 1,893,260 votes, while Houston Astros right fielder George Springer is third with 804,826.
Before tearing the UCL in his left thumb, Trout was churning out MVP-caliber numbers.
In his first 47 games, Trout racked up 16 home runs, 36 RBI and slashed .337/.461/.742 with a league-leading 1.203 OPS. He's also produced 3.4 wins above replacement, a mark that ranks second among all position players behind Judge (4.1).
