LeBron James Says He Needs to Figure Out How to Compete with Warriors
LeBron James became the first player in history to average a triple-double over the course of an NBA Finals, per ESPN Stats & Info, but it wasn't enough, as the Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Golden State Warriors 129-120 in Game 5 at Oracle Arena on Monday night.
Now, The King is planning on taking a step back to devise a plan that allows the Cavaliers to compete with the Warriors juggernaut.
"I need to sit down and figure this thing out," James said, according to ESPN's Rachel Nichols.
"They're going to be here for a while," he added, per the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds. "They're going to be around for a while. ... They're built to last."
James didn't elaborate, but it would seem a wholesale evaluation of the Cavaliers is in store given how dominant the Warriors were during their 16-1 postseason run.
It seems safe to say LeBron is plenty confident in his abilities after he averaged 33.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists while shooting 56.4 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from three over the five Finals games.
"I left everything on the floor every game, all five games," he said, per Nichols. "So for me personally, I've no reason to put my head down."
