LeBron James Says He's 'Not Very Good' at 3-on-3 After Event Added to Olympics
Fans might not want to pencil in LeBron James for the United States' three-on-three team in the next Summer Olympics.
"I'm not very good at the three-on-three thing," the Cleveland Cavaliers star said, per Zach Harper of CBS Sports.
The International Olympic Committee announced Friday the new version of basketball will make its debut at the 2020 games in Tokyo.
James also noted he is "more of a five-on-five guy" in his full comments, via NBA TV:
It's hard to argue with this premise, considering his success in standard basketball. He is not only a four-time MVP in the NBA, he also helped Team USA win two Olympic gold medals as well as a bronze in 2004 when he was just 19 years old.
Of course, it's tough to imagine him struggling with fewer men on the court, especially considering virtually no one on earth can defend him one-on-one. Using just his teammates Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love would make a formidable squad.
Regardless of James' decision, there likely won't be any shortage of Americans capable of competing for the gold in this event.
