Golden Tate Tweets 'Hope' for New Lions Contract After Julian Edelman's Deal
Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate expressed hope for a contract extension in a tweet he sent out Thursday night.
Tate wrote: "I hope I'm one of the next ones to get extended..... big plays can come in all shapes and forms huh?"
As part of the tweet, Tate quoted another tweet that referenced the contract extension between wideout Julian Edelman and the New England Patriots, who agreed to a two-year deal Thursday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Tate is set to enter the fourth year of a five-year contract he signed with the Lions in 2014.
He will make $6 million next season and will earn a base salary of $7 million in 2018, according to Spotrac.
The 28-year-old veteran is coming off his second career 1,000-yard season, as he racked up 91 catches for 1,077 yards and four touchdowns in 2016.
Tate has at least 90 receptions in each of his three seasons with the Lions after never catching more than 64 passes in four previous seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
The former Pro Bowler has settled in as quarterback Matthew Stafford's favorite target, especially following Calvin Johnson's retirement prior to the 2016 campaign.
With Tate as the leading receiver, Detroit had the NFL's No. 11 passing offense last season and made the playoffs as a wild card.
