Warriors Set NBA Finals Record for Most Made 3-Point Shots in a Quarter
Add another to the seeming infinite number of three-point records set by the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors canned nine three-pointers in the first quarter of Wednesday's Game 3 matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers, setting an all-time NBA Finals mark for most threes in a quarter.
The previous record was seven, held by multiple teams. Golden State also broke its own team record for most threes in a postseason quarter (eight).
Klay Thompson was responsible for four of the nine threes, while Steph Curry and Kevin Durant each added a pair. Andre Iguodala had the other shot from beyond the arc, as Golden State continued to keep Cleveland at arm's length despite another incredible LeBron James quarter (15 points on 7-of-8 shooting).
The Warriors franchise holds a number of individual and team records for brilliance beyond the arc, both in the regular season and playoffs. This is just another feather in the cap of what's looking like an increasingly unbeatable force as they go for 15 straight postseason wins.
The Warriors led Cleveland 39-32 at the end of the quarter as they try to take a 3-0 series lead.
