NBA Finals Schedule 2017: Cavaliers vs. Warriors Game 2 TV Info and Predictions
After the Golden State Warriors routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-91 in Game 1, many spectators have thrown around talk about a 2017 NBA Finals sweep. File this under a massive overreaction, but it's clear Kevin Durant came into the series with a point to prove.
While the Warriors started off on the right foot, LeBron James didn't, figuratively and literally:
What's the calming news for Cavaliers fans? Typically, James-led teams start slow in the championship round, per ESPN Stats & Info:
Nonetheless, James has never competed against the two best shooters in the league, Stephen Curry and Durant, on the same team for an NBA title. It's a daunting task, but don't expect the defending champions to take a dive and go out like chumps.

Top Storyline
For the blogosphere, Durant's staredown toward Rihanna became symbolic of the sharpshooter's take-no-prisoners attitude in Game 1. The singer, songwriter and actress shouted "brick" at the Warriors forward while he shot at the free-throw line:
Durant responded with a three-pointer and some serious eye contact. When asked about the exchange at the postgame press conference, he decided to leave the commentary to Twitter:
As for consequential basketball news, Warriors general manager Bob Myers said head coach Steve Kerr might return to the bench for Game 2, per San Jose Mercury News reporter Jimmy Durkin:
Kerr's presence would certainly provide a morale boost for a team that's already riding high, which spells trouble for the Cavaliers. Mike Brown remains the acting coach, but we can see a switch at tip-off on Sunday.
Predictions

It's common to take Game 1 and extrapolate the results with a one-sided projection. Furthermore, the Cavaliers clearly didn't prepare for Durant's aggressive play. Not only did he shoot well, but he also drove the lane uncontested several times.
Also, note how Klay Thompson's value has shifted to the defensive side of the ball. He's contesting shots, and it's paying off for the Warriors. ESPN Stats & Info tracked his impact as a primary defender:
However, Durant won't have it as easy in Game 2. Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue will likely make sure of it. He talked about uncontested shots during the postgame press conference on Thursday:
Don't minimize Thompson's defensive effort, but Cleveland won't shoot 34.9 percent from the field again on Sunday. Kevin Love will produce with more efficiency. He finished 4-of-15 in field-goal attempts with 15 points and 21 rebounds in Game 1. The stat line looks good, but the Cavaliers won't prevail if he's hitting 30 percent from the floor.
Even though James put together a decent game (28 PTS, 9-20 FG, 15 REB, 8 ASTS) by average standards, Durant overshadowed him with a monster performance (38 PTS, 14-26 FG 8 REB, 8 AST). As the best player on the court, slightly above average won't cut it in this series against an offensive juggernaut. The three-time NBA champion must outplay the competition with a phenomenal output on the NBA Finals stage.
As bloodthirsty fans cheer for the sweep, the Cavaliers have been listening to Lue behind the scenes, watching Game 1 film and hearing the NBA universe give them little chance to win a single contest, let alone the series.
After a poor shooting night and multiple defensive lapses in Game 1, the Cavaliers will tighten up and win a competitive Game 2 on the road to ease some pressure before the series heads to Cleveland.
Prediction: Cavaliers 106, Warriors 103
Player of the Game: LeBron James (37 PTS, 16 REB, 12 ASTS)
