Tony Snell, Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Agree to 4-Year, $46 Million Contract

Tony Snell was rewarded for his best season, as the Milwaukee Bucks have locked him up with a long-term contract.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Snell and the Bucks agreed to a four-year, $46 million deal that includes a player option after the third year.

Snell came to the Bucks before last season in a trade for Michael Carter-Williams following three solid yet unspectacular years for the Chicago Bulls. Although he mostly came off the bench in Chicago, he earned a bigger role in Milwaukee, starting all 80 games he played.

The 25-year-old averaged 8.5 points per game while shooting 40.6 percent from three-point range, both of which were career highs.

Additionally, he is a quality defender at 6'7" who finished fifth on the team with 3.4 win shares, per Basketball Reference.

"Tony plays the full 48 minutes; he doesn't take a possession off," teammate Malcolm Brogdon said in April, per Gery Woelfel of the Journal Times. "You don't find many guys in the league like that."

The Bucks now keep their starting guard on the roster. With a young squad that hasn't won a playoff series since 2001, keeping anyone who helps the team win will be useful.
