Former NBA All-Star Cliff Robinson Hospitalized in Oregon
Former NBA All-Star and two-time All-Defensive Team selection Cliff Robinson was hospitalized in Oregon Wednesday for undisclosed reasons, according to TMZ Sports.
Citing Robinson's family, TMZ reported the 50-year-old was admitted to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.
A second-round draft pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 1989, Robinson emerged as a defensive ace for the Blazers during his first few years in the league.
The University of Connecticut product then broke out during the 1993-94 season, when he averaged 20.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks en route to his lone All-Star berth.
That statistical eruption came a year after he was named the NBA's 1992-93 Sixth Man of the Year.
Following eight seasons with the Blazers, Robinson bounced around between the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and New Jersey Nets before he called it quits in 2007.
