Tony Romo Rumors: Rams Reportedly Not Interested in Acquiring QB
Despite receiving mixed results from the quarterback tandem of Jared Goff and Case Keenum in 2016, the Los Angeles Rams will reportedly not be in the mix for Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo.
Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, sources with the Rams said there is "no chance they test the waters" on Romo.
There could be financial reasons for the Rams lack of interest in Romo. They rank 25th in cap space for 2017 with $19.5 million available, per Spotrac.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Romo's current contract with the Cowboys will pay him $14 million with a $24.7 million cap hit in 2017, per Spotrac.
It's unclear what path the Cowboys will take with Romo at this point, though ESPN's Ed Werder reported on February 16 the four-time Pro Bowler is "expecting" to be released at some point.
Mike Fisher of Scout.com reported the Denver Broncos are expected to "go hard after" Romo if the Cowboys release him.
The Rams finished a disappointing 4-12 in 2016, missing the playoffs for the 12th straight season. Goff was the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft, though he struggled with five touchdowns, seven interceptions and a completion percentage of 54.6 in eight games (seven starts).
Sean McVay is entering his first season as Rams head coach. He won't be under immense pressure to win right away, but Goff's development in 2017 will go a long way toward dictating when this franchise returns to relevance in the NFC West.
