"We are very disappointed in the series of events that unfolded during the 15U Buffalo Junior Sabres game on Saturday," Buffalo Junior Sabres President Kevyn Adams said in a statement Sunday, per Becker. "We are currently reviewing the situation and in the meantime have suspended Head Coach Andrew Peters indefinitely until the matter is resolved."
According to News 4 Sports' Shannon Shepherd, police in Buffalo have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
A six-year NHL veteran, Peters spent the first five seasons of his career with the Sabres. During that time, he largely served as an enforcer, logging 557 penalty minutes in 200 games.
Those numbers are particularly eye-popping since Peters spent a grand total of 736 minutes on ice while he was with the Sabres.
Peters rounded out his career with the New Jersey Devils during the 2009-10 season, when he spent 93 minutes in the sin bin while failing to record a single point.
According to Becker, Peters also hosts a radio show that airs locally in New York called The Instigators.
