Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon Among Top 7 Transfer Destinations for Scott Pagano

Timothy RappFeb 20, 2017

Clemson graduate transfer and defensive tackle Scott Pagano has narrowed down his list of transfer options to seven schools, according to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports: Oklahoma, California, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas and Arkansas.

Per Bartow, "Pagano will now begin setting up official visits for the coming weekends before enrolling in May."

Because he has already graduated, Pagano can transfer without sitting out a year. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney released a statement on the matter, per Dan Hope of Orange and White:

Certainly, Pagano would be an excellent addition for most schools, and it's hardly surprising that he was contacted by as many as 37 programs, according to Bartow. Despite missing three games in 2016, he was a vital member of Clemson's defensive line, finishing with 20 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks, and he would have been a contender to earn a starting job next to burgeoning superstar Dexter Lawrence in 2017.

He also appears to have a potential future in the NFL if he continues his football career. CBSSports.com lists Pagano as the No. 7 defensive tackle prospect in the 2018 NFL draft.
