High School Basketball Player Hits Opponent's Face with Inbounds Pass
A high school basketball player in Oklahoma sparked controversy by throwing an inbounds pass at his opponent's face.
After the Vanoss High School competitor fell to the ground, the Allen High School inbounder nonchalantly retrieved the ball. According to KFOR.com's Ian Smith, a family member of the player struck by the ball said he is OK.
As noted by the Oklahoman's Scott Wright, the Allen player was not charged with a foul. Vanoss head coach Jonathan Hurt, however, was assessed a technical foul for expressing his disapproval.
The Allen school district released a statement regarding the incident:
"This was an unfortunate incident in the midst of a hard fought game. The players directly involved met and shook hands after the game with no further incident. While no violation or warning was called by the referee on the scene at the time, the matter is being reviewed and dealt with at the team level.
