WWE Survivor Series 2016 Results That Will Have Biggest Impacts at TLC
A night of controversy, drama and entertainment at WWE Survivor Series 2016 offered fans of SmackDown an intriguing glimpse into what lies ahead for the brand at its next pay-per-view—TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs.
Although the brand's big prize wasn't on the line, some clever booking from WWE allowed fans an opportunity to see the next chapter of Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles begin to take shape.
But the night's other matches involving SmackDown stars also set things up for TLC to be a show to remember as 2016 comes to a close.

Here are the results from Survivor Series that will have the biggest impacts on the TLC card.
The Brian Kendrick def. Kalisto
It was a night of high stakes for WWE on Sunday night—and thanks to interference from Baron Corbin during The Brian Kendrick's match against Kalisto, the cruiserweight division remained on Raw.
This was a pivotal match for both brands because the cruiserweight division could have benefited from a move to SmackDown following a disappointing start to life on Raw.
But it's not just Kendrick's victory that will have an impact on things heading into TLC. The way Kalisto lost means his feud with Corbin will continue, and WWE has now confirmed the two will meet in a Chairs match.
"I love this aggressive, vengeful side of Kalisto. What goes around comes around, Baron Corbin! #SDLive
— Alexander The Great (@WWETheAlexander) November 23, 2016"
Had Kalisto won, he would have been a pivotal part of the cruiserweight division on SmackDown.
Instead, this result sends him in a different direction—and not one fans will be satisfied with.
The Miz def. Sami Zayn
The Miz's shocking victory over Dolph Ziggler on the Nov. 15 edition of SmackDown looked to be the precursor to Sami Zayn winning the Intercontinental Championship at Survivor Series, but WWE's No. 1 heel survived on Sunday once again.
Had he lost, it would have created an unusual dynamic where SmackDown would have been without a midcard title.
But thanks to interference from Maryse, The Miz kept hold of the Intercontinental Championship and moves forward to TLC with the strap still around his waist.
And for one last time, Miz and Ziggler will meet at TLC with the belt on the line—with this likely being the final meeting between the two men in this particular feud.
Can The Miz survive against the odds again? Or will Ziggler get revenge for his controversial defeat earlier this month?
Team SmackDown Men def. Team Raw Men
The amount of storytelling in Sunday's traditional Survivor Series match offered WWE fans plenty of glimpses into the future for all the participants involved.
However, SmackDown's top male Superstars got particular boosts for the coming months following their morale-boosting victory, and that win sets things up nicely to impact the proceedings at TLC.
Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt standing tall as the sole survivors hands them some valuable momentum moving forward, and it looks like they could be in position to challenge for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
If they beat American Alpha, then they will get a shot at Heath Slater and Rhyno at TLC, and given how it would be a surprise to see two babyface teams square off, expect The Wyatt Family to get the job done.
Elsewhere, the mini-reunion of The Shield saw the stakes raised higher between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles, and it was a vital piece of booking to put the spark back into their feud.
Had Ambrose and Styles stayed on the same page all night at Survivor Series, it would have left their feud for the WWE World Championship feeling flat. But the way things were booked on Sunday night, it sets things up for TLC and beyond.
