WWE SmackDown Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from November 15

Erik BeastonNov 16, 2016

The final episode of WWE SmackDown Live before Survivor Series 2016 featured the returns of The Undertaker and Edge, an Intercontinental Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and The Miz and one last showdown between stars of the blue brand and its red counterpart ahead of Sunday's marquee event.

Titles changed hands, and the wrestling world was rocked by the words of one of its all-time greats, but which Superstars emerged as winners, and which were not quite as lucky?

Find out with this look back at the Nov. 15 broadcast.

The MizWinnerOne of the hottest characters in the industry continued his resurgence in 2016 with another Intercontinental Championship victory.
CarmellaLoserThere is something confusing about Carmella spending months trying to destroy Nikki Bella, then celebrating alongside her rival after stopping Team Raw from decimating the former Divas champion.
American AlphaWinnerIt may not carry the tag team titles, but American Alpha continues to be the centerpiece of the tag division, as witnessed by its victory in the 16-man tag team match Tuesday night.

Biggest Winner: The Undertaker

Some 26 years after he stepped through the curtain for the first time under the WWE umbrella, Undertaker continues to captivate audiences, his presence alone enthralling fans.

That was the case Tuesday night as he made his first televised appearance since April's WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Shane McMahon inside Hell in a Cell.

The Phenom blew all expectations away, announcing to the world that he was back and that he would no longer be defined by The Showcase of the Immortals. Instead, he threatened Team SmackDown with severe punishment if it fails to defeat Team Raw at Survivor Series—a date with him between the ropes.

The response he received from the fans in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, was proof of his enduring character. He was treated like an icon—and justifiably so. His return to the squared circle and the suggestion that he will play a role in the weekly occurrences on SmackDown helped him catapult past AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose and every other significant star on the Tuesday night roster to become the biggest winner of the week.

Biggest Loser: Dolph Ziggler

And with that, Dolph Ziggler's latest championship run came to an end.

The Showoff was one of the hottest stars in WWE coming out of a No Mercy pay-per-view in which he wrestled one of the finest matches of his life. On that night, he defeated The Miz to capture the Intercontinental Championship.

Now, just over one month later, the hard work and emotion he put into making that match the epic encounter it proved to be was erased.

It leaves Ziggler in an unenviable position.

Writers do not see him as legitimate main event talent, but his work is that of a competitor much better than an everyday midcarder. Seemingly out of Intercontinental Championship contention, where he goes from here is a mystery. That type of uncertainty is never something an established star like Ziggler wants to confront.
