Taylor Lewan Ejected for Making Contact with Official During Packers vs. Titans
Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan was ejected in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers after he made contact with an official.
NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano reported Lewan's ejection. Jason Wolf of the Tennessean noted Lewan was likely acting out of frustration because Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion came through the line before the snap and hit Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota with a cheap shot.

While this particular instance may have been justified on Lewan's part because he was trying to defend his quarterback, it is part of an unfortunate trend of bad decisions on the field for the 25-year-old.
For example, Lewan was flagged for unnecessary roughness late in Week 3 against the Oakland Raiders with the Titans trailing, 17-10. Before the flag, Tennessee was set to have the ball on first-and-goal from Oakland's 3-yard line, but instead faced first-and-10 from the 18 and couldn't convert.
The Titans would go on to lose that game by the same score.
Jared Stillman of ESPN 102.5 Nashville is also pinning a lot of the blame for Lewan's latest actions on Titans head coach Mike Mularkey:
Despite the questionable decisions, Lewan is a key component of Tennessee's offensive line. The three-year veteran has started 25 games since the start of 2015, and Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus named him the biggest breakout player of the 2016 season so far.
The Titans offense had been rolling of late with at least 26 points in each of the previous five games, but the absence of Lewan leaves the team without its anchor on the offensive line as Mariota tries to outduel Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
