Wolfe Has Been Reliable Piece of Denver Defense
Wolfe started all nine games for the Broncos prior to his injury this season.
The 2012 second-round pick made an impact right away in Denver, starting all 16 games and totaling six sacks in his rookie year. He has continued to work as a full-time starter, contributing to the league's top-ranked defense in 2015 with 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
After playing a big role in the team's run to the Super Bowl title, Wolfe earned a four-year contract extension worth $36.7 million in the offseason.
The first half of 2016 saw him produce even more impressive numbers, including 4.5 sacks and 28 tackles through eight games. Patrick Smyth, the Broncos' vice president of public relations, also noted on Nov. 3 that Wolfe's 15 quarterback hits rank second in the NFL behind only Aaron Donald, though much of his impact comes from freeing up space for others to make plays.
