WWE Sends Chicago Cubs Championship Belt
In case you happen to be living under a rock on the moon of a planet in a different galaxy, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series on Wednesday night after a stressful and exciting Game 7 against the Cleveland Indians.
WWE management has been sending custom WWE Championships to teams who win the Superbowl, Stanley Cup, NBA Championship and the World Series for years, and it was finally the Cubs' turn to carry some WWE gold.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
This is an incredibly smart business tactic. By spending a few hundred dollars on a replica belt and some custom side plates, WWE gets its logo in front of millions of people.
Every team proudly shows off the belt they receive in press photos, during interviews and on television. Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant could be seen wearing the title the team received during the rally held at Grant Park in Chicago on Friday to celebrate their win.
Many former and current WWE Superstars are fans of the Cubs and tweeted during the World Series, even if they were at the taping of a live show. CM Punk is a vocal supporter who has used Cubs logos on his gear for years, and Charlotte and Ric Flair threw out the first pitch at a game against the Atlanta Braves.
WWE likes to invite champions to sit in the front row of events held in their city, so don't be surprised if Javier Baez or Anthony Rizzo show up on Raw in the near future. Congrats to the Cubs on finally breaking the curse of the billy goat.
WWE Launching New Weekly Cruiserweight Series
The Cruiserweight Classic was one of the best things WWE has produced since launching its streaming service, but ever since the division moved to Raw, there has been little character development.
Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins have been given time to develop a storyline, but everyone else has been thrown into a series of pointless six-man tag matches.
It looks like management is going to remedy this problem. According to WWE.com, the company will introduce a one-hour weekly series following SmackDown on the WWE Network called 205 Live, and it will focus solely on the cruiserweight division.
"More Cruiserweight action coming your way with 205 Live - https://t.co/pllQpplv4W
— WWE on ESPN (@WWEonESPN) November 2, 2016"
Raw will still feature the division, but with its own show on Tuesday nights, WWE will be able to further develop characters who might not be pursuing the title at the moment.
The only problem this presents is how to handle Talking Smack. The SmackDown post-show has become one of the bright spots in WWE's weekly lineup, and it would be harder to make it work if the show airs an hour after SmackDown ends instead of immediately following the show.
The Undertaker Set for SmackDown Return
SmackDown will be celebrating its landmark 900th episode on November 15, and one of the men most synonymous with the brand will return for the festivities.
According to a WWE press release posted by Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com, The Undertaker will make a rare appearance outside of WrestleMania season for the monumental episode.
It's highly unlikely he will be in action, but with Kane currently embroiled in a feud involving Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton, it's possible The Deadman could lend his brother a hand against two of his former rivals.
Taker's career has been winding down for several years, but performing almost exclusively at WrestleMania has allowed him to extend his run longer than many would have thought possible.
Even if he only speaks a few words, seeing The Undertaker live is always a special experience, so the fans in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, should make sure their cameras are fully charged with plenty of available memory to capture every moment.
Hulk Hogan Settles Lawsuit With Gawker
The long legal battle between Hulk Hogan and Gawker is finally over, according to a statement from Nick Denton, the media outlet's founder, on his official website.
Upon reaching the settlement, Denton had this to say: "After four years of litigation funded by a billionaire with a grudge going back even further, a settlement has been reached. The saga is over."
Hogan was originally awarded $140.1 million by a jury, but Dominic Patten of Deadline reported the final number could be closer to $31 million based on court documents. However, the details of the settlement are sealed, so this is all speculation.
The WWE Universe has been wondering if Hogan would be able to return after enough time had passed, but with WWE's family-friendly approach, it may be a while before The Hulkster is invited back to the company.
Dolph Ziggler Issues Challenge to Raw
Survivor Series will see the Raw and SmackDown rosters do battle in three different elimination tag team matches, but there will be a fourth brand vs. brand contest featuring a title.
Dolph Ziggler issued an open challenge to the Raw roster during last week's SmackDown, saying he would put up his Intercontinental Championship against anyone willing to face him.
Raw already has one more title than SmackDown thanks to the introduction of the Cruiserweight Championship, so if Ziggler were to lose the belt, Raw would have six titles to SmackDown's three.
This is going to make the pay-per-view a little more interesting because there is more than just bragging rights on the line. If Ziggler loses the title, everyone on SmackDown loses the chance to take it from him in the future.
In addition to the four Raw vs. SmackDown bouts, Goldberg will take on Brock Lesnar in his first match since leaving WWE following their previous encounter at WrestleMania XX.
With WWE putting a heavier focus on the elimination matches, it feels like the company is embracing the original Survivor Series concept more than it has in recent years. With the majority of PPVs having little to differentiate them, it's smart to use a theme to make the show memorable.
With 19 events on the calendar, we don't need to see every belt defended at every PPV, especially if WWE keeps giving us random title matches on Raw and SmackDown.
What are your predictions for this year's Survivor Series? Will Goldberg slay The Beast? Which brand will emerge victorious?
