McDermott Sent to D-League
Monday, Dec. 5

McDermott Provides Valuable Threat from Deep
Getting McDermott back will be a boost to the Bulls' ability to stretch the floor and score from deep.
First-year Bulls Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo are not the best shooters from distance, which is where McDermott has carved out his niche:
| Rajon Rondo | 28.9% | 36.5% (2015-16) |
| Dwyane Wade | 28.4% | 31.7% (2008-09) |
| Jimmy Butler | 32.8% | 37.8% (2014-15) |
| Doug McDermott | 41% | 42.5% (2015-16) |
The third-year man has provided solid minutes off the bench after a tumultuous, injury-riddled rookie season in which he missed 46 games. Last season, he averaged 9.4 points in 23.0 minutes per game.
With McDermott back, Chicago's offense will get a deep threat back after the team lost E'Twaun Moore and Justin Holiday, its two leading three-point shooters, in the offseason.
This will open up the Bulls' interior and mid-range game, where Jimmy Butler, Wade and Rondo thrive.
