WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for June 23
In the wake of a new WWE world heavyweight champion being crowned and Tuesday's news that Roman Reigns had been suspended, the Superstars of wrestling's top promotion rolled into Tucson, Arizona, for this week's SmackDown tapings.
And thanks to our friends at Wrestling Inc, we have all the spoilers for Thursday's USA Network broadcast.
Just 48 hours after capturing WWE's top prize, Dean Ambrose made an appearance in Tucson, as did one of the top contenders to his title, Seth Rollins. The two would have a confrontation, but The Architect's arrogance landed him in the crosshairs of another Superstar, setting up a huge main event match.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
AJ Styles and The Club continued to leave their mark on WWE, turning their attention to Jimmy and Jey Uso and renewing a rivalry that had been dormant since Extreme Rules.
WWE tag team champions The New Day interrupted The Wyatt Family Monday night on Raw. One night later, the favor was returned.
What went down in those three instances, and which other Superstars made their presences felt at the tapings?
Results
- Rollins opened the show. Frustrated by the events of the last few days, he issued a challenge to anyone in the locker room. Sami Zayn accepted, only for Ambrose to hit the ring and conduct an impromptu edition of The Ambrose Asylum.
- Cesaro pinned Alberto Del Rio.
- Sheamus defeated Apollo Crews via count-out in a rematch from Money in the Bank.
- The Usos confronted The Club backstage, reigniting the intense rivalry from just over a month ago. A match between Jimmy Uso and Styles was booked for later in the night.
- Styles defeated Jey Uso using the Phenomenal Forearm. During the match, Jimmy Uso was at ringside and found himself on the receiving end of a beatdown, courtesy of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, who came through the crowd to perpetrate the attack.
- WWE world tag team champions The New Day defeated The Vaudevillains in a non-title match. After the bout, The Wyatt Family appeared and cut a promo on the trio.
- Dana Brooke defeated Becky Lynch. After the match, Brooke and women's champion Charlotte instigated a two-on-one assault before Sasha Banks made the save.
- Rollins pinned Zayn in the main event. After the match, The Architect attacked Ambrose, who was sitting in on the fight commentary.
Analysis

The main event of this week's show is Rollins vs. Zayn. If that match is not enough reason to drop everything, plop down on the sofa and enjoy a night of extraordinary in-ring product, nothing is.
Featuring two of the most celebrated workers of this generation, the contest is not only destined to be extraordinary but entirely fresh as well. After weeks of tag team bouts pitting Money in the Bank competitors against each other, a one-on-one match featuring the acclaimed performers is a more-than welcome change.
Speaking of those Superstars included in this past Sunday's ladder match: Cesaro vs. Alberto Del Rio may not be the most dynamic match on paper, thanks in part to the lack of dynamic personalities involved, but the match itself should be outstanding. Both men are strong workers who have added styles learned around the globe to their arsenals, making them more well-rounded than many of their peers.
The interaction between The Club and The Usos may not be very exciting, considering how many times the five Superstars worked with each other in the lead-in to both Payback and Extreme Rules, but Styles is on a roll in 2016, and the bout with Jey Uso should at the very least be an entertaining sprint of a match.
With a rematch from Money in the Bank pitting Sheamus against Crews and an appearance by Banks on the schedule, Thursday's show looks fresher and more intriguing than those of recent weeks and will certainly be worth watching.
